My abstract work is born from within, deriving from a compilation of emotions and life experiences perpetually evolving. I allow my brush to lead the way in forming through their novel language that innately comes from a special genuine place using the form of color. I use an array of acrylic, oil, metal leaf, texture paste, brush, and palette knife techniques to manifest an emotion into fruition— the stroked colors on the canvas will speak independently in telling their individual story.
I paint abstract to invoke freedom, express myself beyond lines, colors, figurative forms, or confined spaces. Abstraction describes humanity better than any art form. We are beautifully complicated, unpredictable, unbounded, and unique.
Before starting a painting, I have no idea how it will turn out. I love the idea of endless possibilities portrayed on canvas based on raw emotion.
“To create one's world in any of the arts takes courage.”
